BMW 325ci Available at Crown Auto Sales and Finance for just $1300 Down
The 3-Series offers world-class performance and luxury in a midsize sedan.
Auto reviewers say the 2007 BMW 3-Series offers one of the most exhilarating driving experiences available, combined with excellent safety and reliability.Edmunds says, "Whether your priority is an engaging driving experience, an elegant cabin environment or simply curbside prestige, this car delivers in spades." Many reviewers find fault with confusing electronics, but for BMW buyers these are small concerns next to the pleasure of putting the car through its paces. The Washington Post sums it up well when it says that the 2007 3-Series offers "ride and handling so smooth, so wonderfully responsive, you wind up driving the car for the sheer joy of driving it. Destination becomes a secondary concern."
The 2007 3-Series is part of a generation of cars that BMW redesigned in 2006, adding cleaner lines and more powerful engines. However, the 3-series' history of stellar performance goes back much further. Introduced in 1975, the 3-Series is BMW's most popular model, and like its predecessors, the 2007 BMW 3-Series is an award-winning car. Car and Driver gave the 3-Series one of its 10 Best Car awards for 2007, further claiming that "constant upgrades have kept the 3-series on our 10 Best list for a record 16 consecutive years." Edmunds named it "Most Wanted Sedan under $35,000" and Consumer Guide calls it a "Best Buy." The 3-Series also won the "World Car of the Year" award at the 2006 New York Auto Show.
The 3-Series is one of the pricier cars in the upscale midsize class, but for many buyers it's worth the extra cost. "Fully deserving of its popularity, the 2007 BMW 3-Series sets the standard for overall driving enjoyment, luxury and refinement in an entry-level luxury car. Only its high price will give you pause," explains Edmunds. Though an expensive car within its class, the BMW is not necessarily a bad investment.
IntelliChoice projects that the 328i will achieve "excellent" cost of ownership and that the 335i will achieve "better than average" cost of ownership over five years compared to others in their class. IntelliChoice also gives the sedan versions of the 328i, 328xi and 335i its "Smart Choice" award for their high retained value. The BMW 3-Series is also available as a convertible.
2009 Silver PT Cruiser
The PT Cruiser, with its spacious interior, offers plenty of cargo and passenger room for the money, but reviewers complain that it is underpowered.
In addition to its one-of-a-kind styling, the 2009 PT Cruiser's attractive pricing and treasure-trove of interior space has helped the wagon remain a favorite for reviewers and buyers. In its heyday, it was one of Chrysler's best selling cars. However, competitors have started offering similar amounts of space in interiors that are more refined, as well as peppier performance. "Chrysler's 1940s-ish retro wagon enters its eighth year just as the market is rediscovering compact hatchbacks," Car and Driver says. "The perky design has worn well, although it's hard to hide its age."

The 2009 PT Cruiser comes in three trims: the base LX, the Touring and the Limited Edition. A new special edition version is also available, the Sunset Boulevard Edition. The highly-rated Scion xB is another hatch that receives attention for its distinctive styling.

The 2010 Chevrolet Aveo isn’t flashy, but that’s not its mission. Its four-cylinder engine gets up to 27/35 mpg city/highway, which is above average in its class, but reviewers said the Aveo accelerates slowly, which isn’t surprising for a car that has such little power.
You can get the 2010 Aveo in sedan or Aveo5 (hatchback) form. Both have good cargo space for their sizes. Reviewers were impressed that the cabin had a lot of headroom, though tall drivers may need more legroom.
The Aveo doesn’t come with much in terms of standard features. Inside, the Aveo comes with OnStar and a four-speaker stereo that has an auxiliary input. It has four airbags, though you can’t get electronic stability control on any model. Look at higher 1LT and 2LT trims for features like air conditioning, satellite radio, cruise control and power windows and door locks.
If the Aveo’s underpowered engine or lack of interior features doesn’t bother you, its safety and reliability scores might. It has terrible safety and reliability ratings that are among the lowest in the class.
Other Cars to Consider
The 2009 Hyundai Elantra should give you more for your money and was named our 2009 Best Compact Car for the Money. For starters, the Elantra has better safety scores and a higher reliability rating than the Aveo. The Elantra’s engine also has more pep, though its fuel economy ratings are slightly lower. Inside, the Elantra has spacious front and rear seats, as well as good trunk space.
If the Elantra is too large, consider the 2010 Toyota Yaris, which is available as a sedan and hatchback. The Yaris doesn’t have much interior space, and the Aveo has more room for cargo. Still, the Yaris has better safety and reliability scores, and has more standard safety features than the Aveo.

When the 2010 Chevrolet Malibu was new, auto critics liked its attractive styling and well-balanced ride and handling. Some reviewers mentioned that the LATCH connectors were easy to locate and that installing car seats was effortless. The Malibu also comes with strong safety ratings.
The 2010 Malibu has a few faults though. Its reliability rating is on the low side for the class, and some test drivers thought the back seat wasn’t as comfortable as rivals’. Another potential downside is the 2010 Malibu’s lack of a navigation system, even as an option. Chevrolet’s OnStar turn-by-turn directions offer similar functionality, but this service requires a paid subscription.
The front-wheel drive 2010 Malibu has a four- or six-cylinder engine, which is paired with a four- or six-speed automatic transmission. The base four-cylinder Malibu gets 22/30 mpg city/highway, which is about average for the class. Six airbags, anti-lock brakes, electronic stability control and traction control are standard on the 2010 Malibu. Inside, the base Malibu includes a standard power driver’s seat, cruise control, OnStar and a six-speaker stereo with satellite radio and auxiliary input. Upper trims include available features like heated seats, Bluetooth, leather seats and an upgraded stereo.
