Used Car Sales Trending Upward

This month should see a major increase in used-car sales. TrueCar.com estimates used car sales for December at 3,349,510, up 13 percent from November and up 6.6 percent from December 2011. The ratio of new to used is estimated to be 1:3 for December 2012. New light vehicle sales in the U.S. (including fleet) is expected to be 1,370,658 units, up 19.9 percent from November (on an unadjusted basis). The December forecast translates into a SAAR of 15.6 million new car sales, up from 13.6 million in December 2011 and up from 15.5 million in November. Retail sales are up 23.6 percent from November. Fleet and rental sales are expected to make up 16.5 percent of total industry sales in December. The industry average incentive spending per unit will be approximately $2,409 in December 2012, which represents an increase of 4.3 percent from November.

General Motors has a small truck recall

General Motors is recalling 118,800 model year 2010-2012 Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon vehicles manufactured from Nov. 9, 2009, through Aug. 28, 2012, for failing to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 113, "Hood Latch System." The hood may be missing the secondary hood latch.

If the primary hood latch is not engaged, the hood could open unexpectedly. During vehicle operation, this could obstruct the view of the driver and increase the risk of a crash.

General Motors will notify owners and instruct them to inspect their vehicle for the presence of a secondary hood latch. Dealers will replace the hood on any affected vehicles, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin on Jan. 17.

Our sales staff will be selling online advertising to a niche in the used car industry, throughout the Greater Charlotte Market. www.carlotfinance.com will launch in Charlotte before moving out to additional cities throughout the South East over the course of the next two years. 

We are looking to hire two or more sales people who have direct experience in selling advertising to the automotive industry or experienced sales people who have a very firm grasp of web based advertising. Naturally, a high level of computer competency is required for this role. 

The website its self is due for completion over the next 2 week (Currently in testing phase) and we have a large scale advertising campaign arranged to support the efforts of the sales people on an ongoing basis

We are offering a guaranteed base salary for the first 4 months, slowly moving towards a commission only role. Every help and support will be given along the way; however we are looking for self starters who can grow with the company in not only the Charlotte Market, but into other cities throughout the Southeast.

If you are currently working as a sales manager, or have sales management experience, then let's talk. We are looking for people who can close business and train and teach others to do so. We have invested to a large degree so far and identifying key people is our next investment. 

Once up to speed and target (Very Realistic), the yearly income should be a minimum of $35k and $65k being very achievable with less than 30 running accounts per month. (The vast majority of accounts will be ongoing accounts) There is no cap on earnings and a solid bonus scheme in place for over achievement on a monthly basis. We are not scared to motivate our sales people with financial rewards. 

In addition to your resume, I am looking for a covering letter outlining the following things:

• What you are looking for in your next position
• An overview of online advertising, from your perspective
• What you think you can bring to a dynamic young company with fantastic growth plans
